INSPIRATION : The BRUT Guernsey jumper is inspired by the story of 19th century French marine rescuers, a group of volunteers who dedicated their lives to keeping the ocean safe for fisherman and other maritime workers. This group still exists in France today under the name Les Sauveteurs en Mer, but was originally known as the Societe Humaine, a name famously embroidered by hand on their fisherman jumpers.

BRUT connected with this beautiful narrative, and wanted to honor it by teaming up with the brand that knows fisherman sweaters better than anyone.

FABRIC : 100% British Worsted Wool in navy - both durable and weather resistant due to it's tightly packed fibers, originally made to spring back into shape after a good soaking in the storm. Worsted wool is a high quality yarn with long and smooth fibers, originally hailing from the Norfolk village of Worstead, a center for textiles in the Middle Ages.

The BRUT Guernsey includes a hand-finished mock neck and shoulder seams as well as a front embroidery panel with the iconic logo of the original Societe Humaine.

All sweaters have been manufactured by Le Tricoteur Guernsey in their atelier on the island's coast.

ID : The history of the iconic Guernsey jumper begins in the 16th century. Originally hand-knitted by the wives and sweethearts of fisherman and farmers to protect against harsh weather, the Guernsey jumper eventually became a worldwide favorite, donned by everyone from sea farers to the royal family themselves. Their proven durability even lead to Guernseys becoming an integral part of the Royal Navy uniform in the 19th century.

N.B : Dry clean recommended.
